What are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centres in your body. The word chakra comes from Sanskrit meaning ‘wheel’ and it illustrates how this energy centre has a spinning motion.
Our chakras have functions to perform similar to the organs in our body; their function is complex and range from physical to spiritual.
There are seven main chakras that run along the length of your body, from the bottom of your spine and to the top of your head. In addition, there are a number of main chakras outside our body: The Earth Star chakra is found below roughly two fees below your feet; the Causal chakra, Soul Star chakra and Stellar Gateway chakra and Solar Junction chakra. Ancient Indian texts describe as much as 114 chakras in the body but the 12 chakras just mentioned represent our main chakras.
Each of the main chakras is associated with a different colour and relates to specific spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical aspects of our being. If one or more of your chakras are blocked or out of balance, they can cause difficulties with mood, focus, balance and overall health and wellbeing.
As chakras have a balancing and healing function, there are ways you can bring your chakras back into balance thereby regaining your sense of strength, balance and wellbeing.
A chakra healing and balancing session is 30 minutes; £30.
What to expect More about Chakra Healing/Balancing
Balancing chakras is the process of tending to these areas of your body and thoughts so that you may feel more aligned, stronger, balanced and energetic. Chakra balancing does not require any knowledge or belief on your part – only the openness and intention and desire to heal.
Similar to any other healing approach, the actual experience as well as the outcome is different for everyone depending on what you’re dealing with in your physical and emotional life. You may choose to share this with me or just set your intentions within you. You can either set your intention for what you wish to receive or set an intention to be open to receive in a manner that is divinely right for you at this time.
When providing chakra healing, I will follow the directions that I get from both your body-energy, any information that you might have shared, and I will channel the divine energies to allow for the healing there is to come through. We will end the session by grounding you back in.
The aim is to release any chakra blockages and promote a free flow of energy to restore balance and a sense of wellbeing. Description of the Seven Main Chakras of the Body
The Chakras of Matter/Physicality
There are three chakras of matter/physicality.
The first chakra is the root/base chakra. Located at the base of the spine or tailbone, it is the chakra of security, stability, and basic needs. When this chakra is open, we feel secure, safe, and grounded. Balancing this chakra will result in less worry and anxiety.
The second chakra is the sacral chakra. Located below the navel and above the pubic bone, this is our sexual centre. This chakra is responsible for creative expression, and sexuality. Balancing this chakra will result in feelings of joy and satisfaction.
The third chakra is called the solar plexus chakra. Located in the area between the navel and the breastbone, it is our source of personal power. When this chakra is open, we feel confident and empowered.
The Fourth Chakra – the Connection Between Matter and Spirit
The fourth chakra is the heart chakra. Located at the centre of the chest just above the heart, it serves as a bridge between our mind, body, emotions, and spirit. It is our source of compassion, love, and connection. When it is balanced, we understand emotions and feel at peace.
The Chakras of Spirit
The fifth chakra is the throat chakra. Located in the throat area, it is our source of verbal expression. When it’s open, an individual should be able to speak their highest truth. Balancing this chakra will result in being able to communicate well and be better understood by others.
The sixth chakra is the third eye chakra. The third eye is the point between the eyebrows, it is the source of our intuition. When the sixth chakra is open, we can trust our intuition, see the bigger picture, and further enable ourselves to heed warnings and trust that gut instinct.
The seventh chakra is the crown chakra. Living at the crown of the head, it is sometimes referred to as the thousand petal lotus. The crown chakra is the spiritual connection to our higher selves, to other people, and to the divine. It’s also the chakra of enlightenment.
